Cessna Citation Excel (Model 560XL)

Citation XLS

The Cessna Citation Excel (Model 560XL) is a turbofan-powered, medium-sized business jet built by the Cessna Aircraft Company in Wichita, Kansas, USA. A member of the wide-ranging Citation brand of business jets, the Excel was evolved into the Citation XLS and then the Citation XLS+ models.
For short to medium-range flights the Citation XLS provides maximum comfort and no fuss, enabling you to arrive, refreshed, at your destination in less time than commercial flights.

The Citation XLS's exceptional performance, safety and superior specifications have led to the aircraft’s popularity for business and private charter.
Aviation Beauport can make your journey a unique experience by arranging a cabin crew service with food and refreshments, as well as planning your onward travel if required.
Engines from Pratt & Whitney.Avionics by Collins. In a world where we call wonder what became of the blue chip companies, these three names are still rock-solid leaders in best aviation.
The airplane has been an industry leader ever since Cessna put a traditional midsize cabin on its high technology straight wing back in 1998.Teamed with the Pratt 545 series turbofans, the low-drag wing delivered cruise speeds well above 400 knots, exceptional climb performance and the short runway and low speed docile handling characterstics of a straight wing.
The XLS cabin has 5-foot 8-inch headroom so passengers find it easy to move about. This is an enormous 90-cubic-foot baggage compartment in the tail cone, and the quality and design of Citation interiors have improved stedily to compare with any in the industry.

In other words, the XLS line has delivered what people want in a buisness airplane for the lowest cost. And the new Plus version makes the airplane better with improved engines,Pro Line 21 avionics and a list of now standard equipment that provides more capability and comfort for about the same cost as the previous model with similar equipments.
It's going to take a true Citation expert to tell the Plus from the previous XLS model by looking at tha Plus on the ramp. The XLS,like other members of Citation 500 family, has the sort of flattened cone nose that traces its shape back to the original Citation.
Light jet flexibility with midsize cabin comfort.
The Cessna Citation XLS/Excel is one of the best-selling business jets ever built. It has the ability to operate out of smaller airports while still offering the comfort and amenities of a midsize jet. Over 18 feet in length, the cabin provides ample room for up to seven passengers – and enough height to stand up in. The XLS/Excel also features a full refreshment center and the largest baggage compartment in its class.
Performance is based on standard conditions, zero wind with no runway or temperature restrictions, and NetJets standard fuel reserves. Maximum range is based on flying at long range cruise speed with two passengers. Actual flight range and cruise speed will vary with payload, wind, and weather conditions. Aircraft illustrations are not to scale. Maximum range on the G550/GV, Global 5000, and Global 6000 is achieved by accommodating an additional crewmember in the passenger cabin due to regulatory requirements.

Maximum Range (Hours) Data assumes 4 passengers for light, mid, and super-mid cabin; 6 passengers for large cabin.
All planes represent MAX capacity including belted lav, except Phenom 300
All "Miles" listed are Statute Miles. (A mile is sometimes called a statute mile or land mile to distinguish it from the nautical mile which is somewhat longer.)

NEWS About Citation XLS:
Caiga To Assemble Cessna Citation XLS+ in China
Cessna has firmed up its plans to build business jets in China by sealing a joint venture with China Aviation Industry General Aircraft Company Ltd. (Caiga) to assemble and sell Citation XLS+ models for the Chinese market. The deal, which was announced at Airshow China 2012 on November 14, builds on the strategic agreement that Cessna signed with Caiga’s parent company Aviation Industry Corp. of China (Avic) in March 2012.
Under the terms of the new joint venture, which subject to governmental approval, Cessna’s Wichita factory will provide components, parts and sub-assemblies for aircraft that will then be assembled at a factory in Zhuhai, in the southern province of Guangdong. The Caiga plant will also handle painting, testing, cabin interior installation and delivery of the XLS+ to Chinese customers. Apart from reduced final assembly costs, the joint venture also provides a way to avoid cumbersome Chinese import rules for foreign-built aircraft. At the time of the March 2012 agreement, Cessna indicated that Citation Longitude and Sovereign could eventually be produced in another factory in Chengdu, but these plans were not mentioned in this week’s announcement.
The management of the joint venture will include board members from both Cessna and Caiga, with its general manager being nominated by Cessna and a deputy general manager coming from Caiga.
“We are extremely pleased with this joint-venture contract and we look forward to producing high-quality business jets for the Chinese market,” said Bill Schultz, Cessna’s senior vice president of business development for China. “Customers can expect rigorous testing and quality controls that are the hallmark of our reliable aircraft family.”
